This Masterplan Initiative was named ‘The Footprint of the Future…’ It deals with the Regeneration and Development Masterplan for the West Common in Lincoln and the surrounding area including the Carholme golf course and links to the Fossdyke canal.

The West Common is situated to the north and south of Carholme Road. It is an area of open land giving excellent views of the Cathedral and the historic hilltop with good pedestrian and vehicle access to Lincoln city centre. The west common has great potential to become Lincoln’s main park destination.
The vision for the Masterplan is to redefine how the West common is seen by the people of Lincoln, to provide an outstanding area of high quality green space that can be enjoyed by all. Also to Set out a Strategic Master plan to regenerate, reinvigorate and breathe new life into what is currently an uninspiring landscape
